Founded in 1984, Salto Publications is the oldest continuously published sports publisher in Greece. Renowned for its meticulous research and extensive library of over 200 sports books, Salto has established itself as a trusted source for athletes and researchers alike.
Now, Salto proudly unveils the Kallistos series, a brand new imprint venturing beyond the realm of sports. Focused on human rights, history, and culture, Kallistos aims to produce thought-provoking content that motivates, captivates, and enlightens readers of all ages around the world.
Salto Publications remains committed to its core mission: identifying readers’ needs and offering reliable, well-researched, and insightful solutions. They believe in publishing books that make a positive difference and genuinely enhance the lives of their audience.
The owner of Salto Publications envisioned a simple yet professional logo for the Kallistos series. Inspired by the word’s Greek origin, meaning “beautiful,” the Lineadesign team crafted a streamlined brand identity that exudes a contemporary and authoritative voice on human rights. Their goal was to develop a captivating identity that distinguishes Kallistos in the competitive marketplace.
To achieve a sophisticated aesthetic, the design team opted for a custom-drawn typeface featuring a serif, lowercase format with tight spacing. This typography adds a touch of elegance and established authority.
Color plays a crucial role in the Kallistos identity. Mustard yellow, a dark shade reminiscent of nature tones, serves as the primary color. The design also prioritizes production efficiency for Salto’s small team. While templates provide a structured framework for book covers, feature openers offer creative freedom and flexibility to incorporate unique and expressive designs that complement the accompanying imagery.
